SUMMARY:Sustainable Food Systems
DESCRIPTION:Reaching sustainable food systems is a challenge for all the players along the value chain from food production to food consumption. Technological innovation can support companies in their appropriate use of water\, energy and packaging materials and in reducing\, monitoring\, managing\, recycling and upscaling waste as well as using alternative sources and technologies of food production. \n This event proposes to ask the right questions about the sustainability of the agrifood system through the use of limited\, reusable or recyclable resources\, the decrease and valorization of waste and alternative food production.  \n\nBe inspired by players who have successfully taken the step of innovation\nConnect in a targeted manner to potential innovation partners \nBe challenged and motivated during participatory discussions\, workshops\, speed-dating and exhibitions\, all complemented by a creative cocktail \n\nRead more & register here \n\n\n  \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Agenda\n \n \n \n \n \n Part 1\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n 09:00\n \n \n \n \n \n Coffee and networking\n \n \n \n \n \n 09:30\n \n \n \n \n \n Welcome & Introductions\nPlanetary boundaries and the role of Switzerland\nChristina Senn-Jakobsen\, Managing Director – Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley\nJean-Philippe Devaux\, Vice-President – Berninvest\n \n \n \n \n \n 09:40\n \n \n \n \n \n Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley – “Project Matterhorn”\nThe project at a glance: ambition and vision\nChristian Nils Schwab\, Executive Director\, Integrative Food & Nutrition Centre – EPFL\n \n \n \n \n \n 09:45\n \n \n \n \n \n Understanding Cultured Food\nData Trends\, enabling technologies\nCarlotte Lucas\, Corporate Engagement Manager – GFI\n \n \n \n \n \n 10:00\n \n \n \n \n \n State of Play Switzerland: an overview\nMapping cultured food actors in Switzerland\nSwiss Food & Nutrition Valley\n\n \n \n \n \n \n 10:10\n \n \n \n \n \n Understanding readiness\, challenges\, and opportunities (Part I )\nState of Play\n– Producers: Yannick Gächter\, CEO – The Cultured Hub\n– Academia: Christine Trautmann – ETH\n– Startups: Tomas Turner\, CEO – Cultivated Bioscience\n– Investor’s voice – Ismael Huber\, Analyst – Redalpine Venture Partners\nI\nInteractive session\n \n \n \n \n \n 11:00\n \n \n \n \n \n Coffee break\n \n \n \n \n \n 11:10\n \n \n \n \n \n Understanding readiness\, challenges\, and opportunities (Part II )\nState of Play\n– Citizens’ voice – Wilbert Sybesma\, Founder – Microbiome Solutions & Lecturer Food Biotechnology EPFL\n– Swiss policy: Nathalie Schneuwly\, Paralegal\, MAS Excellence in Food – Food Lex AG\n– Nature’s voice – Adrian Hirt\, Founder – Alphahirt\n– Contract manufacturing: David Brandes\, CEO & Co-founder – Planetary Group \nI\nInteractive session\n \n \n \n \n \n 11:55\n \n \n \n \n \n Global view\n– Sandhya Sriram\, CEO & Co-founder\, Shiok meats & Gaia Foods\n– George Peppou\, Founder & CEO – Vow Food\n \n \n \n \n \n 12:10\n \n \n \n \n \n Open mic discussion\nFinal remarks & next steps\n \n \n \n \n \n 12:30.\n \n \n \n \n \n Networking lunch\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Part 2\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n 13:30 – 15:00\n \n \n \n \n \n SFNV Action Forum: Valley Partners only
