The School of Engineering is a vibrant and welcoming community of students, professors and researchers, thriving at the heart of campus at the cutting edge of technology and R&D. As a University of Applied Sciences, the School of Engineering values the «Learning by Doing»
approach for both its Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes and contributes to fostering an innovation ecosystem.
The HES-SO Valais-Wallis School of Engineering, comprised of 4 degree programmes and 4 affiliated research institutes represents a dynamic and innovative team of 260 researchers, professors and collaborators.
Every year, about 470 students are trained and shaped throughout the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes as well as PhD students in collaboration with partner Universities in Switzerland and around the world.
The 4 research institutes collaborate closely and extensively with industry and academia, yielding a turnover of 20 million Swiss francs and more than 400 projects per year.
The Institute of Life Technologies is active in applied research and development (R&D), provides services and offers continuing education courses. Our interdisciplinary teams have excellent skills and extensive experience in Life Sciences in fields as diverse as bioprocess engineering, bioinformatics, biopharmaceuticals, environmental engineering, diagnostics, food technology and analytical chemistry. We work closely with our business and industry partners to meet society’s current and future challenges. Sustainability is a key focus of our activities and projects.
